Indigo Bunting

Results from the 2009 World Series of Birding!

The Cornell Lab of Ornithology's Team Sapsucker won the Stearns Award for best out-of-state team with 221 species--8 species shy of the overall winners, the Delaware Valley Ornithological Club's Lagerhead Shrikes. The Lab's student team, The Redheads, won the Cape May County division with 187 species, beating their previous record by 3. The Sapsuckers and Redheads have raised $196,000 for bird conservation, thanks to the uncommon generosity of Cornell Lab members, friends, and eBirders. Help the teams reach their goal to surpass the $200,000 mark, their record from last year! Every cent goes directly to bird conservation programs and student training, thanks to sponsor Swarovski Optik.
