2009 World Series of Birding

Lab Members

With the release of the first State of the Birds report in March, this effort to protect birds could not be more timely. The Lab created and edited the report, video, and website with content from many partners as a way to help people understand the urgency of bird conservation in the United States.
Team Sapsucker embodies this urgency to win on behalf of birds. A new captain, Chris Wood, and a new member, Jessie Barry are bringing new energy to the contest on May 9 in New Jersey. You can help inspire them by setting up a personal fundraising page; by sending a note to your friends, family and other committed to conservation; and by giving your own donation today.
The World Series of Birding (or the "Big Day") is just one way the Cornell Lab is working to "interpret and conserve the earth's biological diversity through research, education and citizen science focused on birds." Please help today - whatever you can afford will help tremendously. But more importantly, it is really a great way to spread the word about the power of citizen science to monitor nature. Thank you for your tremendous support of conservation and of our Big Day teams!
